TU.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

CRAWFORD provided Independent Technical Review cost engineering services for the new $1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium which serves as the home of the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL. The new stadium is a fixed roof stadium with a translucent roof and features the five largest pivoting glass doors in the world. The stadium’s signature feature is five large doors that are between 75 and 95 feet tall and were incorporated to allow fresh air. With about 2,000 Wi-Fi beacons and 1,300 access points, U.S. Bank Stadium will have full Wi-Fi access throughout the building. The stadium will seat 66,200 people for most games, slightly more than the Metrodome. However, it will be expandable to 73,000 for special events such as the Super Bowl.

Bannister Federal Complex, Kansas City, MO

CRAWFORD developed the Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) for the U.S. Department of Energy – National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA) in accordance with GAO-09-3SP and DOE G 413.3-21. Custody and control of the property is split between the DOE and GSA. We used a detailed class 1 bottom-up approach for project management, building and site demolition, civil works, and Solid Waste Management Unit (SWMU) environmental remediation. CRAWFORD’s IGCE was within 4% ($205.4M) of the sole source BFC property transfer to CenterPoint Properties.

U.S. Military Academy Science Center, West Point, NY

CRAWFORD provided cost engineering, CPM scheduling, value engineering, and construction scheduling analysis for the $107 million state-of-the-art science center. Working with the USACE New York District CRAWFORD provided both PACES and MCACES MII cost estimates throughout the design phase. This extensive project is being completed in two phases. Phase II, currently under construction, includes the modernization and renovation of existing laboratory. Our RTA cost estimate was within 6% of the awarded construction contract which allowed USMA to secure all 22 bid options associated with the project.

Air Force Technical Applications Center, Patrick AFB

CRAWFORD provided on-site IT/Communication/SCIF Construction Management Services to include Quality Assurance for the new $158 million Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) Facility.This campus will serve as a new surveillance facility to monitor nuclear detonation and nuclear testing throughout our world. The contract called for a 276,000 SF headquarters facility, a 38,000 SF radiochemistry analysis laboratory, a 23,000 SF central utility plant, and a five-story parking garage. The radiochemistry lab is unique; there is no other lab like it in the Department of Defense. The Design-Build Institute of America recently honored AFTAC with a National Award of Merit for civic buildings.

NAS Oceana Virginia Beach, 14L – 32R Runway

CRAWFORD provided Functional Analysis Concept Design Charrette (FACD) services, Program
Budget cost estimates, and Class 1 SUCCESS Cost Estimating services for NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic on the $67 million repair of Runway 14L – 32R project. CRAWFORD was tasked to lead the FACD Charrette to confirm design parameters, confirm criteria changes and discussions from the design kickoff meeting, ensure compliance with design criteria for airfield operations and lighting systems for safe flight operations at night and in bad weather, and to document any instructions for variance from design criteria. Our FINAL cost estimate was within 0.5% of the awarded construction contract.

USACE Middle East District Dahla Dam, Afghanistan

CRAWFORD provided cost engineering and DD Form 1391 development for the Arghandab Irrigation Rehabilitation Dahla Dam Project. This project includes two unique strategies. The first strategy involves the raising and rehabilitation of the Dahla Dam. This consists of six Saddle Dikes, one Spillway, and the raise and modification of the Dahla Dam. The second strategy is an optional study involving the construction of a new dam at Hasanzay. The project is currently estimated at approximately $443 million. Dahla Dam Phase 1 is on schedule for July 2015 completion and Phase 2, the actual raising of the dam, in 2017.

DoDEA Delalio Elementary School, New River, NC

CRAWFORD provided Code 0 and Code 3 cost engineering services as well as full design cost engineering on the Delalio Elementary School Replacement project. DoDEA’s 21st-Century Education initiative focuses on providing students with school environments that support teaching and learning through flexible and adaptable spaces. Designed to meet USGBC LEED for Schools 2009 Silver Certification requirements, the new school connects to the recently constructed gym/music room addition at the existing facility. The multi-phased construction is currently underway. The existing facility will remain in operation until the new school is complete; at that point, it will be demolished and all remaining connections and site work will be completed.

Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, MD

CRAWFORD provided SUCCESS cost engineering / cost estimating services for the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, Mathias Lab Expansion at Edgewood, Maryland. The existing building required certain areas to be renovated, including the relocation of numerous laboratories and offices. The project will seek gold-level LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, targeting the maximum gold score of 51 credits. The lab already has gained recognition from the national Labs21 program and the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory, which expressed interest in featuring the Mathias Laboratory as a national model. Our Final estimate was within 0.07% of the awarded contract which totaled $37.8 million.

Canandaigua Veterans Affairs Medical Center, NY

CRAWFORD managed and facilitated the Value Engineering Study for the new construction and renovation for the Canandaigua VAMC – Bid Package -1. The Canandaigua VAMC has provided inpatient and outpatient care to veterans living in the Finger Lakes region of central New York. Today, the campus covers approximately 157 acres with 64 buildings, 35 of which contribute to the Canandaigua Veterans Hospital Historic District Project will construct a new single story, 120-bed Community Living Center. In addition to the VMS management and participation, CRAWFORD was tasked with providing an independent review of the working cost estimate. This total effort produced a savings to the project of over $11,000,000; and was well received by all parties.
